Brian Wansink

Brian Wansink, PhD (Stanford, 1990) holds the John S. Dyson Endowed Chair in the Department of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University, where he is Director of the Cornell Food and Brand Lab.  Previously, he was a professor at Dartmouth College, the Vrije Universiteit (The Netherlands), the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, INSEAD (France), and he was a visiting scientist at the U.S. Army Research Labs in Natick, MA.  He is a Fulbright Senior Specialist in food marketing and nutrition, and in addition to writing Mindless Eating: Why We Eat More Than We Think (Bantam, 2006), he is author of the books Marketing Nutrition, Asking Questions and Consumer Panels. His academic research on food has been published in the world’s top marketing, medical, and nutrition journals and it has been presented, translated, reported and featured in television documentaries throughout the world.  The research findings of Wansink and his colleagues have also contributed to the introduction of smaller “100 calorie” packages (to prevent overeating), the use of taller glasses in bars (to prevent the over-pouring of alcohol), and the use of elaborate names and mouth-watering descriptions on some chain restaurant menus (to improve enjoyment of the food).

Ron Guymon

Ron Guymon, PhD (Brigham Young University) Instructional Psychology. Dr. Guymon is the Director of Corporate Engagements for the Cornell Food and Brand Lab.  He is an international consultant and trainer in organizational behavior and executive development, and has taught representatives from the majority of the Fortune 500 companies. He has authored a number of educational products – ranging from healthcare to gardening and from literacy to second language acquisition – some of which have been featured by the nation's largest retailers. His weight loss and healthcare solutions are uniquely endorsed by bariatricians and other medical professionals.  He lives with his family in Highland, Utah.

Sandra Cuellar

Sandra Cuellar, MA , MFS (Cornell University) is the Director of Operations for the Cornell Food and Brand Lab. Prior to joining the Lab, Sandra was a research associate for the Food Industry Management Program (FIMP) team at Cornell University as well as a consultant for several Colombian organizations in the areas of market intelligence, international food marketing and food retailing. In 2000 Sandra directed a major research project funded by the United Nations to explore export opportunities for Colombian fruits and vegetables in the markets of the United States, Canada, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, and Jamaica. As the Director of Operations Sandra directs the logistics and operations for on-site research activities and outreach efforts for the Lab.

Collin Payne

Collin Payne, PhD (Brigham Young University, 2005) is the Associate Director of the Cornell Food and Brand Lab at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.  Dr. Payne is the author of numerous academic papers on food, nutrition and consumer satisfaction. As the Associate Director of the Cornell Food and Brand Lab, Dr. Payne focuses on the psychology behind what people eat and how often they eat it.  A primary goal of the Lab is in helping consumers find ways in which they can eat more nutritiously and to better control how much they eat.

Pam Staub

Pam Staub, BS (Cornell University 2006) is the Cornell Food and Brand Lab administrative assistant. Pam received her degree from The School of Industrial and Labor Relations where she studied both human resource management and labor issues. Prior to joining the Lab, Pam worked for 8 years in the Johnson Graduate School of Management, and for 16 years in Civil & Environmental Engineering.

Jennifer Cole

Jennifer Cole, MS (University of Illinois, 2006) completed her thesis research on the decision making processes—attitudes, intentions, perceived behavioral control, etc.—related to diet and exercise that lead to behavior.  Jennifer joins the Cornell University Food and Brand Lab team as the Director of Brand Development following employment at Rabobank International where she researched and analyzed food and agribusiness markets. 

Annette Boogerd

Annette Boogerd, MS, RD, LDN, CDE (University of Illinois, 2000) has devoted the past 8 years to helping patients with weight and diabetes management at the University of Chicago Medical Center.  She has recently helped develop and implement a curriculum for Weight Management and Diabetes Education classes to improve patient care and awareness. 

Steve Kern

Steve Kern, BFA (Rochester Institute of Technology, 1990) works as the Cornell Food and Brand Lab's programming director, creating and maintaining the Lab's web sites.
